Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Hi! Iâm a big puppy with an even bigger heart, and I havenât quite figured out that my size can be a lot for people. I love humans. Like, absolutely everyone I meet is my new best friend. When I see you, I just canât help myself⦠my tail goes wild, my whole body wiggles, and sometimes I jump up because Iâm just so excited to say hello! Iâm still learning my manners, though. I donât mean to be overwhelming. I just havenât learned yet how to keep all this enthusiasm under control. With some training and guidance, I know I can get better at keeping four paws on the ground and greeting people politely. The good news? Iâm super eager to learn, especially if treats are involved. I love toys, I love snacks, and I already know how to sit! Iâm a smart guy, I just need someone to help me put it all together. Give me a little patience and consistency, and Iâll grow into a well-mannered, loyal companion. Underneath all this bouncy energy, I just really, really love being around people and I canât wait to learn how to show it the right way.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
