Dog Breed: Rottweiler. *Name: Remi *Age: 10 months old *Current Weight: 53lbs & growing *Rescued from: New York *Adoption fee: $550 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Meet Remi! Remi is a beautiful young rottweiler who is in search of a home and family to call her own. Since moving into her foster home just a couple weeks ago, Remi has quickly begun to blossom. With simple kindness and the comfort of a safe environment, her true personality is starting to shine and let us tell you, this girl is a gem! She absolutely thrives being around other young, playful dogs and is always up for being part of the fun. This girl is obsessed with balls and can't get enough of playing fetch; she's a natural and gladly brings it right back to you, again, and again, and again. Remi also has a softer side: she’s a natural companion who loves being close to her people. She’ll happily follow you from room to room, content just to be by your side. She’s incredibly sweet and gentle at heart, eager to soak up all of your love, affection and rubs. Remi would love a home with a yard where she can run, play, and continue discovering the joys of being a family dog with another canine companion (or two). This girl is even good with cats. She is just a beautiful girl with a heart as big as her smile that is looking for her furever family. IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
