Description

Dog Breed: Rottweiler. *Name: Remi *Age: 9 months old *Current Weight: 53lbs & growing *Rescued from: New York *Adoption fee: $550 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Meet Remi! Remi is a beautiful young rottweiler who has had a challenging start, but now is getting the chance shes always deserved. For the first several months of her life, Remi didn’t get to experience what being a puppy should be. She was confined to a basement, spending most of her time in a crate, treated more like property than a living, feeling companion. When she was recently surrendered to SNARR, the world was a big, scary place—and Remi was understandably unsure and afraid. But that’s not where her story ends... Since moving into her foster home, Remi has quickly begun to blossom. With patience, kindness, and the comfort of a safe environment, her true personality is starting to shine. She absolutely thrives around other young, playful dogs—they help bring out her confidence and playful spirit. Remi also has a softer side: she’s a natural companion who loves being close to her people. She’ll happily follow you from room to room, content just to be by your side. She’s incredibly sweet and gentle at heart and is eager to soak up all of your love and affection. Remi would love a home with a yard where she can run, play, and continue discovering the joys of being a dog with another canine companion or two. Most importantly, she needs a patient and loving family who understands that she’s still learning and growing and has previous experience with her special breed. With the right support, Remi has so much potential to become an amazing, loyal companion. All she’s missing is someone willing to give her the chance she’s always deserved. IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at snarrnortheast/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs

Rottweiler

A.K.A.: Rottweil butcher's dog, Rottweil dog, Rottie, Rotty, Rott, Rot, Rotts, Rotties, Butchers dog, German Rottweiler
Overview:

The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
