A sight for sore eyes! Stevie Winter is a friendly, social, outgoing little guy with a soft merle coat and a joyful, confident presence. Despite having partial vision, Stevie navigates the world beautifully — he’s curious, playful, affectionate, and eager to meet new people. He’s fully integrated into his foster home’s daily routine, enjoys playing in the yard, cuddles, crate time, and wrestling with dogs of all sizes. Stevie is an intelligent people pleaser and wonderfully mild‑mannered for such a young pup. He responds well to corrections, stays calm in the crate (including while in the car), and is already working on housetraining and crate training (both in early stages). Like most puppies, his favorite pastime right now is napping (see pics). The Winter litter — Stevie, Kate, and Sigourney — were born in early January of 2026 and have been raised in a loving foster home where they’ve been exposed to adults, children of all ages, and a variety of dogs. They are well‑socialized, confident, and adaptable puppies who enjoy playtime, cuddles, and exploring their environment. Their foster home is quiet, with few visitors and minimal outside traffic, giving them a calm, predictable foundation. As young pups, they will need adopters ready to guide them through all the basics — housetraining, crate time, leash walking, and manners — but they have the temperament, resilience, and social skills to thrive with patient, loving families. Stevie is ready for a home that will celebrate his bright spirit, support his visual impairment with kindness, and enjoy the affectionate companion he'll most certainly be. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
