Description
Dog Breed: Boxer. 4/28/2026 Winter III is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Winter! I am a beautiful 3 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owner's health keeping them from being able to care for me. I am described as active, smart, and playful! I have previously lived with another dog and it is said that we got along well! I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are no children in my current home but it is said that I am kid friendly. I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep in my own bed. If the humans must be away I do fairly well but am not usually left alone for long periods of time. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, balls, and love! If you think I would make a great addition to your family contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
