Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location Meet Hindi! Hindi is a beautiful young female Pit Bull mix with a sweet and affectionate disposition. This lovable girl came in as a stray, so her history is unknown—but what we’ve learned so far is that she absolutely adores attention and thrives on love from her human companions. Hindi is reported to be very easy to walk on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for strolls and outdoor adventures. She is eager to bond with a family who will give her the care and stability she deserves. Hindi was brought in after being involved in a fight with another dog. While we are unsure of the details and she has not yet been tested with dogs at the rescue, a meet and greet with any resident dogs is recommended. She has not been tested with cats at this time. Foster Needed! At this time, Hindi is only available for foster while she awaits vetting. Opening your home to her will provide the comfort and care she needs as she prepares for her forever family. Come meet Hindi and help her on her journey to a brighter future! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
