Text Molly Mar 26 to 864-441-9075 for my full story - we'll share everything you need to know! Here's Your Quick Peek: Molly is the perfect little window-watching companion—equal parts cuddly lap dog and playful toy-loving sweetheart. Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: .carolinapoodlerescue/application/ Must have: Exercise: A good walking program - Molly has been very sedentary over the last few months while her owner, who loved her, struggled with health issues. Now she needs to lose some weight. Best with: A single person or couple with a quiet, low key household Not ideal for: Loud houses, lots of activity, kids Energy level: Medium to low medium - this is a mature, laid back kind of girl Molly is a gentle, affectionate girl who loves to perch by the window keeping watch on the world, then happily settle in with her favorite toy for playtime or snuggles. She’s the kind of easy, loving companion who fits beautifully into a calm home where she can be both your shadow and your soft place to land. Good with dogs: She does not like pushy dogs. She can co-exist very peacefully with dogs who are sharing kind of dogs but if a dog is pushy and in her face, she pushes right back. She can happily walk down the road, go to Petsmart, etc that is never an issue. It is only when a dog gets very pushy. This is such an improvement from her first time with us when she clung to other dogs and let them push her. She now has confidence. Good with kids: We don't recommend - Molly has never been around children. Cats: Unknown Fun fact: Molly is a professional window watcher—she takes her neighborhood surveillance duties very seriously. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Breed overview
Shih Tzu
A.K.A.: Lion Dog, Chrysanthemum Dog, Foo Dog, Xi Shi dog, Tibetan Temple Dog, Chinese Imperial Dog, Lhasa Lion Dog, Shitzu, Schipperke, Tzu, Shih Tzu Kou, Kou
Overview:
The Shih Tzu, affectionately known as the "lion dog," boasts an ancient and regal lineage, originating from the Tibetan plateau and further refined in imperial China. These charming canines are easily recognized by their striking appearance: a small, sturdy build, a distinctive undershot jaw, and a long, flowing double coat that often requires regular grooming to prevent matting. Temperamentally, Shih Tzus are renowned for being affectionate, outgoing, and playful companions, making them wonderfully suitable for a variety of households. Their adaptable and generally good-natured disposition means they often thrive in families with children and are particularly well-suited for apartment living due to their modest exercise requirements. While generally robust, potential owners should be aware of common breed-specific health concerns, including respiratory issues (due to their brachycephalic, or "smushed" face), eye conditions, and luxating patella. Despite these considerations, a Shih Tzu typically brings immense joy and companionship to their devoted owners.
