Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Hound (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $400. Online Adoption Application › Seppia 2 years Lab/Hound Mix Hello world! My name is Seppia! I'm 40lbs and looking for my forever home! I'm a sweet girl that loves to play with my toys and my doggy friends. Seppia would prefer a home with no kids or older children that understand her space. She is crate trained and house trained. Seppia is great in the car. Seppia does have some anxiety and can be reactive around other dogs. She does best with slow introductions and calmer dogs. Once they are good they will be friends for life. Seppia has some training. She knows "shake", "high-five", and is good about ignoring dogs she passes while walking. She loves treats and can typically be distracted with them. Seppia's anxiety presents when at the vet (who can blame her) or when being touched unexpectedly. We believe Seppia's anxiety will lessen when she has a doggy friend with her. Seppia loves her people and is very affectionate with them. She loves to make her people happy and would love to finally be in a place that feels like home. Seppia is a goofy and loving dog under her anxious ways and would do great at a home with a fenced backyard. She would be ideal for a single person that needs a companion animal and just needs love! ***Seppia's adopters are sad they can't keep her but have generously offered to cover her adoption fee.***

Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
