Description

Dog Breed: Rottweiler. Adoption Fee: 500. Nora is a gorgeous 3‑year‑old female Rottweiler mix with a heart as big as her paws. Weighing about 85 lbs (with a healthy goal closer to 100 lbs), she’s a strong, affectionate girl who truly thrives in a home environment. Nora has vitiligo, a harmless condition that causes loss of pigment in parts of her skin. It requires no treatment, causes her no discomfort, and doesn’t affect her quality of life—it just makes her extra unique and beautiful. Recently, Nora had the chance to stay in a home, and she absolutely shined. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps quietly through the night. She settles nicely indoors and clearly loves being part of a family routine. Nora is a happy, people‑loving dog who bonds closely with her humans. She’s very affectionate and sometimes gets so excited that she’ll pop up for a hug—something that can easily be refined with continued positive‑reinforcement training. She is food‑motivated, enjoys her meals (a slow feeder works best for her), and has shown no food or toy guarding. She enjoys walks and outings and does well in the car, making her a great adventure buddy. On leash, she can pull a bit due to her size and enthusiasm, but she’s eager to engage and learn. Nora loves to play tug and does so appropriately without over‑arousal. In the home, Nora was indifferent to a larger male dog. She can become overly excited around small animals but is redirectable with guidance. An experienced adopter or rescue familiar with large breeds would be ideal. Nora is a truly wonderful dog who has already shown how special she can be outside of the shelter. She deserves a real chance at a fresh start, whether through rescue, foster, or adoption. Nora’s Details: ✅ Spayed ✅ Up to date on vaccinations ✅ Microchipped ✅ On Simparica Trio (flea/tick/heartworm prevention) ~31 inches tall ⚖️ ~85 lbs (needs some healthy weight gain) If you can help Nora or would like more information, please contact infoeoanimalalliance. Rottweiler

A.K.A.: Rottweil butcher's dog, Rottweil dog, Rottie, Rotty, Rott, Rot, Rotts, Rotties, Butchers dog, German Rottweiler
Overview:

The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
