Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: Achworth, NH Meet Ringo! Are you looking for a plug-and-play best buddy who is over all that silly puppy stuff? Ringo is your guy! This sweet, 10-year old little gentleman loves people and just wants a peaceful residence where he can settle in and be his happy little self. Ringo is amicable to just hang with his people all day; whether it be puttering around outside, going for walks, or hanging out in the house. He does well with strangers, cats, and other dogs, but is a seasoned little sir, established in his preferences. Therefore Ringo would do best in a home where he can have calm friends and personal space, including time in the day for a nap! Ringo is neutered, potty trained, and up to date on vaccines/preventatives. He walks well on a leash but does get a little fidgety in the car, so does best with a seat belt or in a crate. Ringo’s little stub tail never stops wagging and he just adores people! He is going to make a great companion to a very lucky family. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
