Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Every shelter has that one dog who somehow keeps getting overlooked, and for us, thatâs Baby. ??Baby is a 4-year-old black Pit Bull mix with a heart as big as her smile. She may have been waiting the longest, but she hasnât given up on finding the family sheâs been dreaming of. She is incredibly sweet, takes treats with the gentlest touch, and absolutely loves spending time with her favorite people. ??Babyâs perfect home would be one where she can be the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention she deserves. Whether youâre looking for a hiking buddy, a weekend adventure partner, or someone to curl up with on the couch after a long day, Baby is ready to be by your side through it all. ??She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to head home today. ??Sometimes the dogs who wait the longest make the most loyal companions. Come meet Baby and see why so many of us at the shelter have fallen in love with her. She might just be the missing piece youâve been looking for.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
