Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). NJ Meet Ace Ventura! Ace Ventura comes from a litter of sweet terrier mix puppies. His siblings have all been adopted, and now it's his turn! His mom is a terrier mix weighing about 40 pounds, and while we don’t know his dad's size, this little one is full of personality and promises to be a wonderful companion! Ace has a sweet, happy personality and loves being around people. He's curious, playful, and eager to learn. Ace is house-trained, crate-trained, doing well on leash, and sleeps soundly through the night. He has quickly picked up quite a few basic commands including sit, stay, and paw, and even enjoys beginner agility exercises. This intelligent pup is very food-motivated, which makes training easy, fun and rewarding. Ace Ventura is dog-friendly and gets along very nicely with his two canine foster siblings. He enjoys playing, but is also great at settling once it's time to wind down. Ace is a wonderful puppy with a great temperament and he will make a fantastic addition to the right family. He is eager to meet you and start his new adventure! Ace Ventura is up to date on vaccines and has been treated for puppy parasites. Wag On Inn will arrange for spay/neuter and microchip at 5-6 months of age at The Spay and Neuter Center of New Jersey in Holmdel. Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. Their adoption donation is $600. Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
