Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). NJ Meet Wheezy from Our Adorable Terrier Mix Puppies! Wheezy is in a NJ foster home Wheezy is an exuberant, active and playful little girl! Her mom is a terrier mix weighing about 40 pounds. However, we have no information on her dad's breed or size. This little cutie is full of playful energy. She loves to play with her toys, sleeps through the night and is learning to walk on leash. Wheezy would be perfect for a family or individual looking for a small to medium-sized dog with a big heart and fun personality. As she's still a young pup, Wheezy will need an adopter who will continue to teach her puppy basics and manners. Wheezy is up to date on vaccines and has been treated for puppy parasites. Wag On Inn will arrange for spay/neuter and microchip at 5-6 months of age at The Spay and Neuter Center of New Jersey in Holmdel. Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. Their adoption donation is $600. Wheezy will be in NJ on 5/30! Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
