Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Henry (A568799) walks well on leash, though he can get a little excited and may need reminders not to jump. Even though heâs listed at 3 years old, he still has plenty of puppy energy paired with generally good manners. He takes treats gently and already knows sit and paw â and when he offers that paw, he puts his whole heart (and about 20 pounds ??) into it because heâs so excited to connect with you. In the big pen, Henry spent some time sniffing and exploring until he found his groove, and then his personality really started to shine. Once he opened up, he happily played fetch and looked like he was finally getting a chance to just be a carefree dog. Iâm not sure this guy has always had the opportunity to simply enjoy being a puppy, but with consistency, guidance, and an outlet for his energy, Henry has all the potential to become an amazing companion. He absolutely loves treats, attention, and being part of the fun â always a great sign. ?? .instagram/reel/DYQ9nYCOdA3/?igsh=b3N2dWZ2eGhvOGdn

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
