Foster location: Weyauwega Application & Website: .ourpackanimalrescue/adoption.html ✨ Meet Cheyenne ✨ Cheyenne came to us as a local surrender, and while we may not know everything about her past, we are certain of one thing—her future is full of love just waiting to happen. Cheyenne is very shy and unsure in new situations. She definitely retreats to her safety which is her kennel or to her puppy brother for support. If she does not have access to either one of those things she shakes uncontrollably. This poor little girl is so unsure of everything around her that makes me wonder how much she really got out of her pen. Cheyenne would definitely benefit from a home that will expose her at a young age to a bunch of different sights, sounds, and smells. Until then foster Mama's doing lots of exposure trying to get her more comfortable and different elements. Trying to build Cheyenne's confidence so that we could see more of her true puppy behavior that I know is in there. Of course Cheyenne is all puppy and she will need a home that is understanding that she will need help potty training, kennel training, and everything in between to help her become the best girl she can be! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
