Dog Breed: Dogo Argentino (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. Paisley is an 8 year old Dogo Argentino. She is a protective girl when it comes to her family. She needs a home without other dogs, although she does well with cats. Paisley needs a home without children due to being very protective. She is crate and leash trained. Paisley needs to be leash walked or have a fenced yard that's taller than 5ft. She is heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card, includes spay/neuter, first shots and microchip.. Mon.-Sat. 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Temperament-wise, a well-socialized Dogo is often described as loyal, courageous, and protective of their family. While they can be affectionate and gentle with their loved ones, their protective instincts and high energy levels mean they are generally not suitable for apartment living and thrive in homes with ample space and an active lifestyle. They require consistent training and early socialization to ensure they are well-behaved around strangers and other animals. Regarding health, they are prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and skin allergies, and due to their white coat, they have a higher incidence of deafness.
