Description
Dog Breed: Great Dane. Meet Bellini Location: Rowlett, TX Date of Birth: 09/29/2025 Apply to adopt: linktr.ee/Srgdrr Bellini is a loving, affectionate dog who enjoys being close to her people. She is happiest when she can cuddle up beside you or follow you around the house, earning her the title of the perfect “shadow” companion. She also has a playful side and enjoys daily walks, where she proudly carries around her favorite find—sticks. Each walk becomes a small adventure as she searches for the perfect one to bring along. Bellini has a moderate energy level. She enjoys regular activity like walks and playtime but settles down well and relaxes comfortably at home. She would do well with an adopter who can provide a balance of exercise and companionship. She is intelligent, eager to please, and has been easy to train. Bellini is housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, and does well in the car. She is crate trained, though she may need a middle-of-the-night bathroom break and will vocalize to let you know. She is continuing to work on staying quiet when she wakes up before the household. Bellini gets along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion, though she could also thrive as the only dog if she receives enough attention. She has lived with cats and has shown a calm, respectful demeanor, never chasing or behaving roughly. She has also done very well with children, including living with a 10-year-old and interacting appropriately with younger kids in busy environments. Around new people, Bellini may be startled and bark initially, especially if she is caught off guard. She may retreat at first but warms up quickly and has not shown any signs of aggression. She is simply a sensitive dog who benefits from gentle introductions. Bellini is in good health overall, though a veterinarian has recommended a routine dental cleaning in the near future. She is otherwise ready for adoption. Her ideal home would be one that can provide regular interaction, affection, and activity. A family with children, another dog, or an active individual would all be great fits. A yard would be a bonus, but the most important thing is a home where she can be included, loved, and given the companionship she thrives on. Bellini is a sweet, well-rounded dog who is ready to become a loyal and loving member of her forever home. For more information, please email us at rescuemesrgdrr. Overview:
The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to bloat (gastric dilatation-volvulus), hip dysplasia, and certain heart conditions, necessitating careful breeding and regular veterinary check-ups. Overall, a Great Dane offers a loving and loyal addition to the right home.
