Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Sally Sue is still coming out of her shell but, so far, she is a cuddly bundle of energy. She loves to follow you everywhere and nap on your lap ALL day. She's just learning how to play with her foster brother and is beginning to show interest in toys. She is very food-motivated and her "sit" command is coming along nicely. She craves your love and will reward you with thousands of kisses. She's very eager to please! She will need time to decompress for her true nature to come out but, so far, she's the bestest foster baby ever! Potty training and crate training are in progress. She does bark and cry in the crate for quite a while before going to sleep. She will poop at least 4 times a day (probably more) - specifically one in the morning, one in the afternoon, one RIGHT after eating dinner, and another an hour after that. She's nervous to be outside during the night so I have my flashlight on my phone on for her so she can see when she's doing her business. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
