Dog Breed: Great Dane / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Perla, your gentle giant in training This young Great Dane mix is 82 pounds of sweetness wrapped in a slightly awkward, still-growing body. When she first arrived at the shelter, the world felt like a pretty scary place—but even then, she showed her soft heart by leaning her whole self into her handler, soaking up every bit of comfort and affection she could find. She’s still building confidence and figuring things out, including how to be a dog. Playtime with other pups is a work in progress, and her youthful goofiness shines through in the most endearing ways. Think big baby energy with a dash of clumsy charm. What she needs most is a patient, understanding home—someone who will let her move at her own pace while gently introducing her to all the good things life has to offer. With time, love, and a little encouragement, this shy girl is sure to blossom into a loyal, loving companion.If you have a soft spot for tender hearts and gentle giants, Perla just might be your perfect match. This big beauty recently met some social dogs at our shelter and was a little scared of them. She wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as she gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, she’ll be ready to show us her silly side with other dogs. Looking for a buddy for your dog?
