Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Calamity Wren . Calamity is with our partner rescue in LA and can hitch a ride to NJ with an approved foster or adopter. Don’t let the name fool you—this little “calamity” is pure sweetness wrapped in the most adorable black, white, and gray coat you’ve ever seen. Calamity Wren was found alongside her brother, Stetson Boone, the two of them sticking together like the best kind of troublemakers—tiny, loyal, and completely irresistible. At about 3 months old and 10 pounds, she’s expected to grow into a 40–45 pound bundle of love. She’s playful, curious, and full of happy puppy energy, with just a hint of shyness when things get loud or sudden. But once she feels safe? Game on. Toys are her joy. Treats are her love language. And she’s already sitting like a little pro to earn them—because she’s both cute and clever. Calamity Wren is the kind of pup who will blossom beautifully in a loving home, where she can build confidence, learn the ropes, and be someone’s constant companion. She’s still learning all her puppy manners, but she’s got the heart, the brains, and the charm to become an absolutely amazing dog. If you’re ready for a little sparkle, a little sass, and a whole lot of love—Calamity Wren is waiting for you Calamity is up to date on vaccines and has been treated for puppy parasites. Wag On Inn will arrange for spay/neuter and microchip at 5-6 months of age at The Spay and Neuter Center of New Jersey in Holmdel. Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. Their adoption fee is $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
