My friends describe me as: Handsome, curious, and full of life Neil is an 11-week-old puppy with a bright spirit and an even brighter future. Weighing in at 18 pounds already, heâs off to a strong start. Exactly how big heâll grow is still a mystery. One thing is certain, heâs going to be a big presence in all the best ways. Neil is the kind of dog who turns everyday moments into something special. With positive reinforcemnt he is learning quickly and building the foundation for what will be a loyal and loving companion. If youâre looking for a puppy who will grow with you, keep you on your toes, and fill your days with joy, Neil is ready to step into that role! Neil is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. For more information on Neil or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, visit our shelter during open hours. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
