Description

Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 100. Meet Wilma This perky little Husky has a story that will tug at your heart—and a personality that will absolutely light it up. Wilma is just over a year old and already proving that second chances can create the most joyful companions. After a rough and neglected start in life, she’s blossoming into a fun-loving, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining pup who is so ready to find her forever home. Wilma is currently being fostered in Dublin, GA and is available for adoption through Releashed Rescue. She’s heartworm negative and weighs in at under 40 lbs., making her a petite Husky who won’t get much bigger. Shorter in stature but HUGE in personality! This blue-eyed girl is full of life—medium to high energy, playful, and always ready for action. She LOVES chasing balls and will happily keep the game going as long as you’ll throw. She also adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a younger, playful companion who can match her enthusiasm. Wilma is incredibly treat motivated (seriously—she’ll do just about anything for a snack ), which makes her a great candidate for training. She’s already learning! She rides well in the car, is working on leash skills, and is making steady progress with house training. With consistency and patience, she’s going to shine. And when playtime winds down? Wilma is all about the love. She gives the sweetest doggy kisses, leans in for affection, and absolutely melts for belly rubs. She’s eager to please and forms strong bonds with her humans. True to her Husky roots, Wilma is also quite the conversationalist—she loves to “talk” and will happily chat with you about her day in classic Husky fashion. Wilma would be perfect for someone with an active lifestyle who wants a loyal, lively, and loving companion by their side. She’s come so far already—now she just needs someone to give her the life she’s always deserved. Could that be you?

Siberian Husky

A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:

The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
