Description

Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). #4 of 6 Ice Cream Flavor Dogs Fudge Brownie is a sweet, quiet little boy, 4 years old, and weighing a slim 14 pounds. He’s a true dachshund, long and lean with cute, stubby brown legs. His coat is a shiny black short- hair with brown markings on his muzzle and eyebrows, and beautiful brown eyes. He’s just a handsome little dog. He is quiet and laid back spending most of his days sleeping on his dog bed and exploring the back yard. He knows the doggie doors and goes in and out freely. He seems to be housebroken and used to a crate although he doesn’t really like to go in to it. He does use ramps to get on the couch. He sleeps on a dog bed. Occasionally, he will get a little frisky and take a good, long roll in his dog bed. Treats are not a real big thing with him yet. Fudge is still slow to approach people but gets along well with other dogs. He’s not entirely comfortable with being handled yet, he just hasn’t had the chance to learn about soft, human laps! All in all, Fudge is a loving little boy just waiting for a chance to break through and worm his way into someone’s heart. Fudge Brownie is 1 of 6 breeder situation dogs that we have named the Ice Cream Flavor Dogs. They all come in different colors and flavors. Please see FAQs for current adoption fees. Overview:

The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge. Their small size and relatively low exercise requirements make them well-suited for apartment living, and they can be wonderful companions for families, though early socialization is key, especially with children and other pets. Regarding health, their unique body shape predisposes them to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), so careful handling and weight management are crucial.
