This sweet girl is currently healing from a skin infection and already showing how resilient she is — every day her playful, loving personality shines brighter. Sunshine is the definition of a love bug. She adores people and happily greets everyone she meets, and is always ready for cuddles, belly rubs, or curling up beside you after playtime. She’s affectionate, gentle, and eager to be part of the family. Sunshine is good with dogs, cats and children. Like most puppies her age, Sunshine is curious, energetic, and learning about the world around her. She would thrive in a home that can continue helping her build confidence, learn basic manners, and enjoy plenty of playtime and affection. Despite being in recovery, she keeps her tail wagging and her spirits high. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
