Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. To complete an adoption application, click here: /forms/form?formid=5879 Lattimer is ready for his forever home! At around 3–4 months old, this handsome mixed-breed boy is currently about 15 pounds and expected to grow into a perfect medium-to-large adventure buddy. He’s got that classic puppy combo down: bursts of playful energy followed by “okay, now I must nap directly on you” mode. Lattimer will be working hard on all his puppy skills as he continues to experience life outside of a shelter. He just joined his foster home last weekend! He’s been doing great crating overnight (soft music preferred, he has standards) and is quickly acclimating to his new routine. He looks forward to growing into his best self with his forever family! Currently living in a foster home with both dogs and cats, Lattimer gets along great with everyone and would fit into just about any home that’s ready for some puppy fun! If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, snuggly sidekick who will keep you laughing and loved, Lattimer is your guy. To complete an adoption application, click here: /forms/form?formid=5879

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
