Follow my journey on Instagam maisysfostering Good With: Other dogs! Wisteria also lived with some foster kittens and did well. While that is promising, she has not lived with cats long term. We haven't seen her with kids but are happy to discuss integration techniques with cats and kids with any interested adopters! Special Adoption Considerations: Wisteria is a bit shy right now and needs to go to a home with a welcoming residnent dog who will show her the ropes! About Me: Wisteria is such a spunky, shy lady. Even though she's still nervous inside the house and on leash, she LOVES the dog park. As soon as we get in there she runs the place. She plays with dogs of any size. She's also discovering her voice and does the cutest little awooooo when she wants attention. She loves rolling around in bushes, fallen tree branches, the grass, gravel, you name it she does not discriminate! Inside, her favorite place is the couch. When we get back from a walk she comes running inside and immediately hops up and snuggles up in the corner. With some time, patience, bribery, and confidence building she is going to be such a wonderful loving dog. Wisteria’s Favorite Things: Other dogs!! She loves to wrestle, run, and then end the day cuddling with her foster sister Car rides! She loves sitting and looking out the window Wisteria’s Adventures So Far: Daily Dog Park Visits - she loves playing with dogs of all sizes! From the mini poodle to the 100lbs Swiss Mountain Dog The River! She loved swimming with the dogs and digging in the sand TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, vaccinations, transport from the shelter, and her spay. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
