Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Some pets are in the Shelter and others in Foster homes. Please read the bio & email the address listed in the bio. Additionally for CATS you may email JSheltoneulesstx.gov and for DOGS, email trinitygapclubgmail Meet Pax This handsome 2-year-old cattle dog mix is ready to find the forever home he’s been waiting for. Pax is truly an awesome boy—neutered, potty trained, and past the puppy stage, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a great dog without the extra training demands. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give him a little time and you’ll see his sweet, loving personality shine through. Once he warms up, Pax is incredibly loyal and affectionate. He also does well with other dogs, making him a great addition to a multi-dog home. At just the right age and size, Pax is the total package—easygoing, well-mannered, and ready to settle into a loving home. Sadly, he’s currently stuck at the Euless Animal Shelter and needs either a foster or, even better, a forever family to give him the life he deserves. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
