With her striking blue eyes, fluffy coat, and heart-melting charm, Winnie turns heads everywhere she goes—but it’s her sweet, playful personality that truly steals the show. Weighing in at 27 pounds, Winnie is growing fast and ready to start her journey toward becoming the dog of your dreams. She’s at the perfect age to begin training, bonding, and building a lifelong connection with her person or family. Sadly, Winnie found herself in the shelter as a stray, and now she’s waiting for a second chance—either through a loving foster or a forever home. She deserves a warm bed, a safe place to grow, and someone who sees just how special she is. If you’re ready to welcome this beautiful girl into your life, please reach out to: wendeesterlingtile

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
