Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Salem, Ohio Archie, 8 month old neutered Cattle Dog mix I HAVE to find this pup a home before my home is his home! Honestly, I really really like him! And I'm used to crazy intelligent dogs but this boy is off the charts! 8 month old male Cattle Dog mix. 3 of his litter mates have been tested and all came back 53% Cattle Dog. He is a happy boy! Loves everyone! Two legged or 4 legged. House trained, crate trained, good on leash ( and ! know I shouldn't say this but | very seldom have him on leash, he just stays close), well socialized. Не would love to be in a home with kids! As far as cats, he is curious. Sorta scared of them, but you have to understand, my cats don't run from dogs. Dogs run from them. I have known Archie from day one. He is one of 10 in the litter I raised last fall. He came back to me after his owner had no choice but to take a job that required travel 90% of the time. I mean, have you ever seen a big, grown man ugly cry? Current on vaccines, flea & tick prevention and heart worm prevention, & wormed. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
