Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: $250. Meet Apollo — a tiny pup with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! This adorable little guy is estimated to be around 6 months old and weighs just 7½ pounds. Apollo was found as a stray, and despite efforts to locate his original family, no one came forward for him. Now he’s ready to find the loving forever home he truly deserves. Apollo is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and cuddly. He absolutely loves being held and would happily spend hours curled up in your lap soaking up attention. His sweet personality wins over everyone he meets, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. This smart little Chihuahua is already doing great with his routines — he uses the doggie door, is crate trained, and goes outside to potty like a champ. Whether you’re looking for a loyal companion, a cuddle buddy, or a tiny best friend to brighten your days, Apollo is your guy. Anyone lucky enough to adopt Apollo will truly be gaining a little treasure. If you are interested in meeting Apollo, please fill out an application on our website. A meet-and-greet and home check are required. His adoption fee includes his neuter, current vaccines, deworming, microchip, and overall veterinary care.

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
