Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Rose! Rose is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd with a gentle heart and so much love to give. She’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply with her people and is happiest when she feels safe, loved, and included in the family. Rose is wonderful with kids and gets along great with other dogs. She’s already house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, making her an easy companion to bring into a home. She’s also a smart girl who is quickly learning new skills like “sit” and retrieving — and she’s eager to keep learning with someone patient and encouraging. While Rose can be a little timid around strangers and in busy public places, she’s making great progress and gaining confidence every day. Once she trusts you, her sweet and loyal personality truly shines. She would thrive with a family who understands that confidence-building takes time and who will celebrate all the little wins along the way. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
