Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. Meet Starboy — At 14 years young, this sweet Yorkie has perfected the art of companionship. He’s happiest right by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home, strolling through the neighborhood, or exploring the sights and smells of the dog park together. Starboy may be a senior, but he still enjoys life’s simple adventures. Walks are one of his favorite things, especially when he can take his time soaking everything in. And when the outing is over? A tasty snack and a cozy spot near his favorite person make for the perfect ending to his day. This quiet, loving boy isn’t asking for much — just a soft place to land and someone to share his golden years with. In return, Starboy will give you loyal companionship, gentle affection, and the kind of love only a sweet senior dog can offer. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $350 and you can adopt me at .polkadogz.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
