Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. AN ACTIVE, HAPPY PUPPY: Approx. 5-6 months old / Approx. 34 lbs. & growing Hello – I’m Murphy! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so grateful for their love and care as I wait for my new family to find me. I’m ready to meet them and start the good life, so – don’t wait – come let me rescue you! I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience off-site and learned a lot! Now I’m in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my new family to adopt me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, very playful boy who’s friendly, happy, active, fun, and smart! I was well behaved for my shelter bath and ear cleaning and seem to be a pretty good listener, too. I’ve even heard the volunteers call me “a wonderful pup,” and that sure makes me happy! / Energy level: 6-8, so I’ll want a family that will be active with me. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience so I've mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. Let's continue my training as there are more classes I can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for their rescue dogs. I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. I’m still a young pup learning the rules of home life, so crating me when I’m unsupervised will help me stay out of things while I learn what’s mine to play with. / My potty habits were good in the off-site training program, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home as well. • LIKES/DISLIKES: A typical young pup, I LOVE to play and I love treats! Capturing toys and running around in the play yard are two of my favorite things. I would love a fenced yard in my new home where we can do just that together! An affectionate guy, I also love to cuddle - so let’s make time for that between my play sessions, okay? / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, though like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
