Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 200. Looking for a peaceful addition to your pack? Bellis is a dainty, sweet soul with a stunning thick white coat and a heart of gold. She is the definition of "gentle"—she doesn't jump, and isn't rowd, just pure sweetness. She is great with other dogs, cats and kids. She is fully crate trained and is generally a very quiet house guest. While she is calm, she also likes to run around in the yard or the house with her doggy friends. She is very playful and loves her toys which she carries around and use as a bargaining chip for play. Bellis is a sensitive girl who can be a little shy in new situations. Because of this, she needs a home with another confident dog to show her the ropes and help her feel safe. Having a "big brother or sister" helps her confidence bloom! Bellis is almost fully house-trained and is currently perfecting her leash skills. If you have a fenced yard for playtime and a spare spot on the couch for pets, Bellis is ready to meet you! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
