Dog Breed: Terrier. Adoption Fee: $200.00. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. She was skin and bones upon arrival and is now at a healthy weight of 40lbs. While Sally does well with most dogs, being that she was so malnourished in her previous home, she does NOT like to share food with other dogs and displays no food aggression towards humans. She is an absolute snuggle bug and has come a long way from the timid girl she once was. She has a fun personality that shines the moment she meets someone new. Sally loves to play dress up, and would like with a family that can give her all the attention her heart desires. She would do well with regular walks in an apartment as well as homes with a fenced in yard. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
