Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Martin's freedom ride rolled out of the shelter yesterday Last night, this sweet boy spent his first night getting something every dog deserves — a cozy, safe place to sleep ❤️ He’s battling a respiratory infection, but his foster is helping him through it and Martin is being the bravest little snuggle bear. So far he seems both crate trained and potty trained… although he’d much rather sleep in a lap if given the choice The shelter estimated him to be 2 years old but he seems like a baby. Once he's feeling better we will dog test him. ✨ Feel better soon, buddy. The good life looks good on you already. Located in MD. Available in the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, PA, DE, MD, NoVA) Apply to adopt: .chboxerrescue/adopt

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
