Dog Breed: English Pointer (medium coat). Meet Arphie: A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient Heart Meet Arphie, a 5-year-old female Pointer with eyes that tell a story and a heart full of sweetness. While her past was marked by neglect, Arphie is ready to start her next chapter in a home that understands the beauty of a slow bloom. True to her breed, she is elegant and observant, though currently very timid and shy in new environments. Once she knows she is safe, her gentle nature shines throughâshe is a 'velcro dog' in the making who just needs to know sheâs finally home. When it comes to sitting on your lap, her motto is âI fits, I sits!â Arphie is currently a medical foster, recently having gone through surgery to remove two large tumors from her chest and leg. Arphie is also significantly underweight, and will need help gradually putting on about 15 lbs. She is looking for a long-term foster or rescue partner who can provide her with the consistent care and quiet environment she needs to heal physically and emotionally. She would do best in a home with a predictable routine and perhaps a confident dog sibling to show her the ropes. She is not quite leash trained, but each day she gets better and better.
