Description
Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Meet Raven Raven is estimated to be around 2 years old, but don’t let that number fool you, this sweet girl has the playful spirit of a puppy and the kind of energy that keeps life fun. At just 26 pounds, she’s the perfect compact size: small enough to snuggle, but big enough to keep up with all your adventures. She can be a little timid when meeting new people, taking a moment to figure things out, but once she feels safe, Raven turns into an absolute lovebug. The kind that leans into you, follows you around, and reminds you just how special it is to earn a dog’s trust. Raven lives for playtime. Toys? Yes, all of them. Other dogs? Even better. She thrives around canine companions and would love a home where she can run, play, and burn off that happy, youthful energy. Because of her active and playful nature, Raven would do best with a family that enjoys staying on the move… whether that’s walks, backyard zoomies, or weekend adventures. She’s the kind of dog who brings life and laughter wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly shy girl who blossoms into a loyal, toy-loving best friend… Raven might just be your perfect match. You may find me on our website under "ADOPT

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
