Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Beau is a lovable lab/shepard mix. He is 7 years young. You can find him running in the backyard or snuggling on the couch, but his favorite place to be is by his person. He is potty trained, and knows basic commands. He has not used a crate in a few years but was previously crate trained. He is a well traveled pup! He was rescued as a puppy from Oklahoma, adopted by his parents in Kansas, lived and Missouri, and then Florida before living in Ohio. He has adjusted well at every move, but prefers the snow to the Florida heat. He loves other dogs and people, but not so much cats or rambunctious toddlers. Beau has predictable behavior, but his 2 baby and toddler siblings do not. Unfortunately, Beau's little brother has cornered and aggressively approached Beau which to led to 2 nipping incidents. It is because of this that his parents had to make the gut wrenching decision to find him a new home where everyone can be safe and happy. Beau will be happiest in a yard with either older children or an adults only home. **** Breed: Lab Shepard mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2197544&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
