Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed / mixed. Birthdate: 1/14/2024 Breed: One of a kind Weight: 54.2 lbs Journey has already spent her life caring for others — just a few months ago, she lovingly raised four beautiful puppies who have all found homes of their own. Now, it’s finally Journey’s turn to find the safe, loving home she deserves. She’s been through a lot and is looking for a soft place to land — a patient, understanding family willing to let her open up at her own pace. Watching Journey slowly learn to trust is incredibly rewarding. The moment she gently lays her head in your hands and finally relaxes is something truly special. Journey has a beautiful heart and so much love to give. She’s ready to begin a new journey of her own, filled with comfort, kindness, and the security of knowing she’s finally home. The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: .pawscrossedny/cat-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptionspawscrossedny for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
