Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Nana is a shy young dog that arrived at the shelter with some minor injuries. Our vets went to work patching her up and she is now ready for her forever home. She is sweet and easy-going and recently attended a couple off-site events. She was great in the car and was friendly, albeit a little timid around new people. She met a few of our foster kittens and was curious, but not much of a reaction. Unfortunately, she lost an eye in her earlier trauma, and it will take a little time to adjust to her new view of the world. Nana is looking for a quiet, loving, and patient home where she can feel safe and build up her confidence. To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
