Description

Dog Breed: Husky / Shepherd. Elsa and her siblings were rescued from a distant shelter. Shepky pups that were running out of time at the overcrowded high kill shelter. They were found dumped in someone's yard and hiding under the house. She is a sweetie. Gentle and affectionate. Loves playing and snuggling at her foster home with her brother. 5/18/26: Elsa is a super sweetie. She loves playing with other dogs at her foster home smart learning commands quick will sit for treats goes out to backyard for potty biz will use pee pads affectionate and cuddly. Elsa needs a new foster home so her foster home can focus home care and TLC Arlo who is at our VEG ER Palo Alto for Parvo treatment. He needs to be home to eat and be quarantined from Elsa. 5/19/26: So sad. Elsa was fine but tues am vomited her breakfast and then became lathergic. Normal stool. Worst by early afternoon and went to Adobe Vet. Test high positive for Parvo. She was hospitalized and got CPM fluids and all meds. She is anemic though no blood in stool. Not vomitting and no diarreah. Hope she will beat this horrific parvo. She needs experienced foster home today if she is doing better after all the meds and fluids. Need someone to care for her at home to offer fluids and if need iv fluid. Donations are greatly needed to help us pay her vet bills. About $5000. 5/27/26 update: Finally past couple of days Elsa is feeling better and eating chicken baby food. Foster home is trying I/D but won't eat. She wants to play and walks around to follow her foster home and loves their dog. She is smart and goes to kitchen for food walks to back door for yard potty time and very sweet. She is beating parvo and should be fine in 1-2 weeks. She will need a new foster home adopter or foster to adoption home mid-June for foster home's summer vacation trip. Another dog at home really helps her feel happier.YouTube: .facebook/reel/1641880447032085

Siberian Husky

A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:

The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
