Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Freedom ride for #MADLoveMisty Failed by humans and marked for euthanasia almost immediately, Misty’s chances were close to zero. But then she found her way into the MAD pack — and her journey to freedom began. From California to Utah, this sweet girl traveled safely thanks to an incredible team of volunteers (Kai Chapman, Elizabeth Cordero) and just about everyone along the route fell in love with her. Misty is a petite little rascal with so much love to give. She still has a lot to learn, but she’s eager to follow her handler’s leadership and is already showing what a special girl she truly is. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each dog is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
