Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). #A5766461 Ava is a 12-year-old Pitbull with the gentlest soul and the sweetest “Golden Girl” energy. This 59lb senior came in as a stray on March 31, 2026, and urgently needs a loving home to land in. Ava is currently sick and taking medication, but even while not feeling her best, she remains mellow, affectionate, and incredibly attentive to people. You can tell all she wants is someone to love and care for. She walks beautifully on leash, seems fine with other dogs, and has the kind of calm, comforting presence that makes you instantly fall for her. Ava deserves soft beds, gentle hands, and a family who will pamper her through her golden years. -Urgently needs a loving home -12 year old, female, 59lbs, Pitbull -Sweet, gentle “Golden Girl” personality -Mellow, affectionate, and attentive -Walks well on leash -Seems okay with other dogs -Currently sick and on medication AVA’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/C76wYlptTUI For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaaunitedhopeforanimals Photo Credit Mary ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
