Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (long coat). Adoption Fee: 385.00. Xari is a sweet 2-year-old girl who's looking for her forever home. This petite pup has a gentle, affectionate nature and loves being close to her people. She's a social girl who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people of all ages, including kids. Xari is athletic and loves to run and play in the yard with her canine friends - and she's surprisingly fast! She also enjoys playing with stuffed animals and taking a dip in the pool on warm days. Xari is already potty trained and knows how to use a dog door. She's a great car rider and has shown no interest in escaping the yard. She's currently working on her leash manners and learning quickly. This smart girl is enjoying fresh food and gaining weight to reach a healthy figure. She loves to cuddle and will happily hang out right next to you whenever possible. Xari has not been tested with cats or crate training yet.

Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
