Description
Dog Breed: Wirehaired Fox Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Brooke is a sweet girl who is looking for a new home. She is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon with an approved foster or adopter. Brooke may be a petite little lady, but she’s got a whole lot of personality packed into that small frame This adorable wirehair mix is a great option for anyone looking for a pup with less shedding (yes, please!). Brooke is wonderfully adaptable—she’s just as happy zooming around and playing with doggy friends as she is hanging out solo and matching a calmer vibe. She’s already picking up kennel training like a pro (smart cookie alert!) and is very treat-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. Brooke loves having a variety of toys and chew bones to keep her entertained—this girl knows how to keep herself busy! Like any puppy, she’s still learning the ropes and figuring out the world around her, but she’s eager, curious, and ready to grow alongside her forever family. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, and flexible companion, Brooke might just be your girl Brooke is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption donation is $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
