Description
Dog Breed: Terrier (medium coat). Nana A139591 and Fang A139593 are bonded with each other and must be adopted together. A volunteer spent time with Nana and Fangs and had this to say: `These two dogs have won over my heart. During my last two volunteer shifts I made sure I set aside sometime time to sit in the kennel with Nana and Fangs. The first time I went in Nana immediately came up to me crawled up on me and started giving me kisses, Fangs was more standoffish, after some period of time of me loving on Nana, I put Nana in the dog bed with fangs who was sitting there trying to get the courage up to come over to us to get loving, and I was able to slowly love up on Fangs as well as with Nana together. Yesterday I went back in the kennel to socialize with them both. This time, I guess Fangs must have recognized me from the week's before visit, and came right over with Nanna and both crawled up on me, and I was able to love on them both. They both were giving me kisses and both just wanted petting and love! I can't believe these two bonded dogs have not been adopted; they want nothing more than a safe home and to be loved and to give love. They would be good in an apartment or a home .`

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
