Here's Your Quick Peek: Tootsie is a sweet and loving girl that is looking for just that in return. A little timid at first Tootsie takes time to become the loving girl she has shown us that she is. She loves to cuddle up with her pals and lay in the sun with them. Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: .carolinapoodlerescue/application/ Must have: We think Tootsie would benefit most from another dog in the home. She follows them and thoroughly enjoys their company. A calm, stable, routine environment. Exercise: Tootsie would love a walk or two a day. Best with: Calm gentle approach, dogs her size. Not ideal for: Homes with constantly changing schedules. Energy level: Low, Tootsie prefers to chill and sunbathe as opposed to building a sandcastle. Tootsie is sweet but a little timid at first. She prefers someone to match her on her level. Literally crouching down and talking gently goes a long way for Tootsie. She would be happiest in a home with another dog. She needs training with love and compassion. Good with dogs: Yes! Good with kids: Tootsie has never lived with kids and she hasn't been tested with them. We would not recommend Tootsie to a home with children under 15. Cats: Tootsie has never lived with cats, but she is docile and sweet, and we can cat test her for you! Fun fact: Tootsie loves young pups! Her best friend with us for the longest was a pup named Theo! Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Want updates and ways to help? Breed overview
Overview:
The Maltipoo, a delightful crossbreed, emerges from the charming combination of a Maltese and a Miniature Poodle, offering a compact and affectionate companion. Originating in the United States, this "designer dog" was selectively bred for its desirable traits, particularly its low-shedding coat and amiable disposition. Physically, Maltipoos typically weigh between 5-20 pounds, sporting a soft, wavy to curly coat that comes in various colors, most commonly white, cream, or apricot. Their temperament is a major draw: they are known for being intelligent, playful, and incredibly loving, often forming strong bonds with their families. This makes them highly suitable for both families with children and apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. While generally healthy, potential health considerations can include patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, and white shaker syndrome, inherited from their parent breeds. With proper care and attention, a Maltipoo can be a joyful and long-lived member of any household.
