Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Light Blue Gus is officially ready to find his forever family… and he would like you to know he has no idea he is a Pittie/Lab mix that thinks he’s human. Those eyes will absolutely convince you to carry him everywhere like royalty. Gus is around 10 weeks old and has the gentlest, sweetest, most curious little personality. He believes life should consist mostly of long naps, cozy snuggles, and supervising the house from the couch. Dog beds? Absolutely not. Gus is a couch king. A chair champion. A furniture enthusiast. He loves his toys… but only if you are the one doing the fetching. If you throw it, he will cheer you on from his throne and wait for you to bring it back. Teamwork. Gus has been socialized with two bigger dogs, two cats, and kids ages 3–11. He’s fully kennel trained, doing amazing with potty training, and currently in negotiations with the dog door. The flaps are suspicious, and he’s not convinced they won’t fight back. If you’re looking for a snuggly, sweet, slightly dramatic couch potato who will steal your heart (and your seat), Light Blue Gus is your guy. Apply today at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
