Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 250.00. Chanel is a sweet pup that was found on a rural road with her sister, waiting for someone to stop and help them. She and her sister were riddled with fleas and desperately needed help. As a small puppy, she is full of energy but loves to cuddle. She is feisty and likes to play with the big dogs. Curious and looking for anything she can play with, she is learning what it's like to be in a home and part of a family. She immediately took to napping on the couch and sleeping in bed with her foster parents and dogs. She just wants to be part of the pack. Chanel knows that her cuteness can get her out of trouble and uses it to her advantage. She will make a great pup for a single adult or even a family with kids.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
