Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Bentley is a 3-month-old puppy who is soaking up every adventure puppyhood has to offer! The whole world is still brand new to him, and he is loving every second of discovering it. From chasing frisbees in the yard to hilariously chasing his own tail (or even his feet!), Bentley keeps everyone around him smiling. This smart little guy is already about 90% potty trained and uses potty bells at the door to let you know when he needs to go outside. He does excellent overnight in his crate and will even go in on his own when told “bed” or “go to bed.” Like many puppies, he prefers not to be alone and may whine if he can’t see his people, but he’s improving every day. Bentley already knows “sit” and is eager to continue learning new commands. He does have typical puppy chewing behaviors, but he responds very well to positive redirection and enjoys having good teething toys to keep him busy. He also eats very quickly, so a slow feeder has been a huge help for him. Bentley is full of love, energy, and puppy joy. He absolutely loves other dogs, adores every person he meets, and enjoys all kinds of toys and playtime. He would thrive with an adopter who has experience with large or giant-breed dogs and is committed to training while he is still a puppy and eager to learn. A home that can give him plenty of attention, patience, and lots of opportunities to play and explore will be perfect. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, happy-go-lucky puppy to grow with your family, Bentley may just be your perfect match! ❤️ Important Adoption Note: Because Bentley is expected to grow into a very large adult dog, we are only accepting applications from current homeowners for him. This is not a standard requirement for our rescue, and renters are absolutely welcome to apply for our other dogs. For this litter specifically, we want to avoid potential issues with breed/weight restrictions or lease limitations as they grow. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
